You may need to prove your current or past enrollment status as an Indiana University student for several reasons, including:
- Getting or keeping insurance (for example, good student discount on car insurance or to stay on your parents’ health insurance)
- Deferring your loans until after you graduate
- Informing employers or screening firms of your education
- Responding to calls for jury duty
Third parties requesting an education verification (usually employers or lenders) should use the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC), our trusted not-for-profit partner in verification.
Current students can print their own enrollment verification certificate directly from the National Student Clearinghouse. See further details and instructions below.
Note that enrollment is not official until the second week of the term. At that time, enrollment information is submitted to the National Student Clearinghouse to then process and send on to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS).
An undergraduate student with a program G.P.A. of 2.0 or above or a graduate student with a program G.P.A. of 3.0 or above is considered to be in good academic standing for Indiana University certification purposes.
